On the morning of May 21th, series activities for “Chase Dream in the New Chapter of the Era, Celebrate the Great Glory of the Past Century” Chinese traditional culture festival——“Step Brisk Pace, Forget to Return” Garden Party was successfully held in Nanhu campus of our school. This activity was organized by the Keming Ideological and Political Workroom of CCNU, together with several student organizations including the e-Start Mental Health Education Workstation of School of Information Management, the Committee Student Union of School of Information Management, the Ruan Art Student Association, the Student Guqin Association and so on. Ren Youzhou, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice-President of the School, Wang Yulu and Wang Tao, the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Information Management and Professor Lou Cequn attended this event.
The Keming Ideological and Political Workroom was founded by Jiang Keming, the undergraduate counselor of School of Information Management under the guidance of the Party Committee. It aims to carry forward the college spirit of “Cultured College, Innovative College, Affectionate College”, uphold the education philosophy of “Educating students with aesthetics, Cultivating students with culture”, and cultivate the college students’ aesthetic ability and disposition by creating a mode of “Aesthetic Education + Ideological and Political”. This garden party was designed to enrich students’ campus cultural life, take promoting excellent traditional Chinese culture as an opportunity, build a platform for aesthetic education and ideological and political culture as well as exert the function of establishing morality and cultivating talents of aesthetic education.
The event spot set up seven sites for play, and respectively settled several interesting interactive activities as follows: Chinese Sliding-block, the mess of Chinese chess, Winding Creek and Floating Cups, Chinese traditional musical instrument experience, paper-cutting experience, Han Chinese Clothing experience, folding fan calligraphy and so on. The event attracted numerous teachers and students to participate, and the scene was extremely bustling.
At the experience site of Chinese traditional musical instrument, the fingertips of students from musical instrument club danced on the piano, which played pieces of fantastic music and attracted many students to stop and appreciate, eager to experience it for themselves. Under the guidance of the association members, the students played one note after another with instruments such as Guqin, Ruan, Erhu and so on. The fabulous music intertwined with the students’ joy and laughter, surrounding above the garden party.
At the site of folding fan calligraphy, the participants expressed their minds heartily on the fan surface with Chinese brush, either wrote down life mottoes to encourage themselves, or described ideals and convey wishes. The folding fans which carried particular meanings would be taken back as souvenirs, accompanying them every spring, summer, fall and winter.
At the paper-cutting experience site, students took up the scissors and moved up and down on the colored paper. They folded and tailored a lot of vivid patterns with their unfettered imagination and nimble fingers. The students interpreted and described the paper-cuttings’ allegory of each other in an exceedingly joyful atmosphere.
At the experience site of Han Chinese Clothing, students wearing elegant Han Chinese Clothing provided by organizers took photos on the grassland, in front of the ink-jet printing and in the corridor to make a dialogue across thousands of years and admire the charm of Chinese traditional clothes. Dressed in Han Chinese Clothing, they were like young girls and boys who came through the time, which formed a delightful scenery with the garden party.
Furthermore, the participants could accumulate scores at each site. After gathering a certain number of scores, they could obtain small gifts with traditional cultural elements like bookmarks, card bags at the area redeeming gifts with scores. The students all actively took part in the activities at each site to acquire scores to exchange gifts.
It’s reported that Keming Ideological and Political Workroom has hosted a series of activities such as traditional culture enters students’ community, garden party, folk music salon, youth art tour and so on, which makes aesthetic education get close to students’ life, lets traditional culture step into campus and promotes the full development of students’ moral, intelligence, physique, aesthetic and labor. While enriching students’ after-school life and relieving the academic pressure, the workroom spreads Chinese traditional culture through interesting interactive experience, in the meanwhile, extends the influence of aesthetic education. Simultaneously, the mode of “Aesthetic Education + Ideological and Political” has gained recognition and promotion, teachers and students have a intensive sense of participation, experience and satisfaction.
