On the afternoon of May 9, eight volunteers who were from the Zhongnan Road Volunteer Group of the Youth Volunteer Association of the School of Information Management gathered in the conference room 10001 of the South Lake Complex. They were carrying out the eighth voluntary activity in this semester in the form of online courses. The main content of this voluntary activity was the introduction of track and field events by volunteers, which mainly focused on the excellent deeds about the athletes and aimed at guiding the students to learn their positive and progressive spirits.

Hu Lei, one of the volunteers, are explaining the slides to students.
Before the activity started, each volunteer made a short self-introduction so that the members could have a preliminary understanding of them. After that, the activity started formally. First of all, volunteer Hu Lei introduced the origin and its development in China, then playing relevant videos and talking about the glorious deeds of Liu Xiang, the Chinese "flying man" in 110m hurdles. Among these impressive deeds, the volunteer Hu Lei not only explained that Liu Xiang had won 36 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 3 bronze medals in the past 48 world competitions, but also emphasized the assiduous training behind his success.

Xie Yucan, one of the volunteers, are playing videos to students.
After the introduction of hurdles, volunteer Xie Yucan started to explain the sprinting events to the students. Initially, the volunteer explained the rules of the sprint by quoting the outstanding race results of the great sprinter Usain Bolt. Then the volunteer Xie Yucan played a clip video of Su Bingtian from Touching China in 2021. Through the video, Su Bingtian, the representative of Asian speed, insisted on training even though he suffered from many injuries and eventually broke the Asian record, was shown. The students also expressed their positive feelings of self-improvement and working hard in the interactive area while watching the videos. Next, volunteer Wang Yitian helped students recall and consolidate the outline of the competition introduced in the previous slides and videos by connecting his microphone.

Volunteers taking part in the eighth voluntary activity took a group picture.
Finally, volunteer Cheng Ziyi led all the volunteers and the students to do aerobics, which could exercise their bodies and strengthen their physique. After doing that, the volunteers and the students said goodbye to each other, and the volunteers took a group photo for a souvenir. Volunteer Cheng Ziyi said, "If you walk day by day, you will not be afraid of millions of miles; if you do it again and again, you will never be afraid of millions of things."
