The Voice of CCNU On the afternoon of April 14th, 2022, the second session of counselor salon on the theme of “How to Turn“Crisis”into“Opportunity”and Care for Students’ Mental Health with Love” was held in the Student Activity Center 401. It was hosted by Wu Jiancheng, Deputy Director of the Ideological and Political Department of the Office of Student Affairs. Rao Yanping, Deputy Party Secretary of College of Urban and Environmental Science, Yang Lingzhen, Deputy Party Secretary of School of Foreign Languages and Yu Lixia, professional teacher of Psychological Center delivered keynote speeches. Newly appointed branch Deputy Party Secretaries from each department and several counselors who had signed up online attended the meeting.

Deputy Party Secretary of College of Urban and Environmental Science Rao Yanping and Deputy Party Secretary of School of Foreign Languages Yang Lingzhen made a case sharing and experience introduction combining with the college work practice. They both emphasized that everyone should always take students as the dominant factor, care for mental health conditions of students at all times, promptly provide omnibearing psychological counseling and services, especially the crisis intervention services, then form the linkage of school and college as well as psychological crisis management mechanism with the cooperation inside and outside the school. In general, everyone should fulfil student work with warmth to effectively enhance college students’sense of happiness and achievements towards study and life.


Professional teacher of Psychological Center Yu Lixia expounded the latest revised documents on mental health education and crisis intervention for university students, made an in-depth analysis of various psychological problems which may arise in the college students as well as their causes, and proposed a number of coping plans with disposal measures. During the conference, the counselors inquired about students’ mental health education and the lecturer responded them in sequence.

Ultimately, Deputy Director of the Ideological and Political Department of the Office of Student Affairs Wu Jiancheng gave a conclusion remark. She highly affirmed the speeches of the three guest speakers and stressed that students' mental health education played a significant role in school’s moral education work, which is related to students’ healthy growth and brilliant futures. At the same time, the counselors should synthetically utilize sorts of channels and resources to perform students' mental health education work, more specifically, properly handle mental crisis cases, be adept in turning “Crisis” into “Opportunity”, and be concerned with students’ mental health in the whole day and all aspects. Last, the school psychological center will also be through with psychological consulting and counseling, in the meanwhile, supply professional guidance and powerful support for first-line counselors to do a good job of mental health education.
