On the afternoon of April 22, the work promotion conference of “Three-Overall Education”as well as the spring semester undergraduate political work cadres meeting of School of Mathematics and Statistics was successfully convened. Secretary of the Faculty Party Committee Liu Chengzhu, Dean Zhou Yuanyang, Deputy Deans Zuo Guoxin and Guo Yujiin, all the class teachers, full-time and part-time instructors of undergraduate students participated in this meeting. It was chaired by Tian Jun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
At the beginning of the conference, Tian Jun firstly conveyed his thanks to the college leaders and class teachers for their concern about the student affairs. Subsequently, he conducted a briefing on the employment situation of 2022 graduates as well as the mental health work of undergraduates. After that, he arranged and deployed the recent employment work together with the focus of students in need of additional attention and other aspects.
Next, the full-time and part-time undergraduate instructors reported on their work in 2021 from eight aspects : ideological and political education, party and class construction, academic guidance, daily affairs management, mental health education and consultation, online ideological and political education, crisis incident handling, career planning and employment direction.
In the session of headmasters’work experience exchange, Deng Qintao, headmaster of extraordinary talent class in grade 2021, Li Na, headmaster of “excellent teacher plan” class in grade 2021, Li Bo, headmaster of statistics class in grade 2019 respectively shared their class teacher work experience combined with the cultivation of top-notch innovation talents, the training of excellent mathematics teachers and competitive education.
Last, Secretary of the Faculty Party Committee Liu Chengzhu made a conclusion of the speeches. He chiefly expressed his gratitude to the whole political work cadres for their hard work on behalf of the college. Faced with a series of practical problems such as the large student base number, high academic pressure and complex situation of students of key attention, Secretary Liu put forward three hopes for all the political cadres of the college: First, they should strengthen their self learning, improve job competency and overcome the “capability panic” in the process of solving students’practical problems; Second, they must enhance communication, elevate personal comprehensive quality, then, build a tight link between students, families and schools; Third, they need to intensify pragmatism and sense of responsibility, uphold the “solidarity, pragmatism, pursuit” spirit of the college, be bold to take responsibility and be good at making achievements, then carry forward the work style of arduous struggle, ultimately, implement the “education with warmth ”in details and add power to the high quality development of the college.
