The Voice of CCNU On the afternoon of April 22, the first training salon for psychological committee members of "Wenxin Station" was held in the lecture hall on the first floor of the building of School of Chinese language and literature. Wu Caizhi, professor of the School of Psychology and executive deputy director of College Student Mental Health Center of CCNU, Li Honglei, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Chinese language and literature, Xu Xianglian, director of the Office of the School of Chinese Language and Literature, Wang Qing and Xu Ke, instructors of "Wenxin Station", and all the counselors of the School of Chinese language and literature attended this significant event. On the topic of "sharing learning experience, obtaining development together", the training salon was open to all members of the Psychological Life Department of the School of Chinese Language and Literature, including major student cadres of each grade and representatives of Party members as well.

It is reported that since “WenXin Station” was declared, it has become a key project of the second-level psychological workstation of CCNU, which has been highly valued by the leaders and teachers of the School of Chinese Language and Literature. The station has also set up the Wenxin Book Corner and taken great pains to prepare and organize a series of activities such as Wenxin Reading and Sharing Salon, Psychology Committees’ Experience Learning and Exchanging salon, Heartfelt Communications Activity and Wenxin Afternoon Tea and Talk. “WenXin Station” was committed to integrating psychological work into the professional construction of the school and the construction of first-class disciplines, while truly promoting the development of students' physical and mental health, which was aiming at achieving the goal of talent cultivation.
The salon was composed of two parts: a lecture on mental health and a training session for psychological committee members of the School of Chinese Language and Literature. At the beginning of the event, Professor Wu Caizhi gave a lecture themed on "How to Be a Competent Gatekeeper of Suiciding Prevention". He expanded the introduction from three aspects: "What is it and why does it happen?”, “Who is at risk?” and “How to help them?", facing the real problem of psychological crisis prevention for contemporary college students directly. Professor Wu Caizhi initially introduced the real survey data to explain the factors and reasons of psychological crisis of college students. Subsequently, he corrected the misconceptions about psychological crisis prevention and explained what is the “defense logic” on the back of such these misconceptions. “Just relying on the teachers of the psychological center alone are certainly not enough to prevent psychological crisis, yet the student psychological committee members also need to have a pair of sharp and sensitive eyes.” Professor Wu said. On the topic of "Who is at risk?", the professor also shared a variety of typical verbal and behavioral signs, reminding psychological committee members to be highly sensitive to any emotional changes, and remember the six tips of psychological assistance: ensure the privacy of space and the sufficiency of time when asking questions, listen more and suggest less when listening to others, never criticize, never interrupt, never overwhelm the host, and give the other people full trust and timely feedback. Additionally, he suggested students to adopt sincere attitude and constantly instill hope when persuading, seek help and refer to professionals in case of encountering emergency while doing a good job of accompanying. At the end of the lecture, Professor Wu Caizhi emphasized that psychological committee members should tried their best to enhance the awareness, increasing knowledge base and improving skills, while taking the initiative questioning, actively asking for help, and building a strong foundation for college students in preventing psychological crisis.
Then, the Psychological Life Department of the grade of 2020 shared their learning experience about the recent MOOC training organized for university psychological committee members. After playing several short videos about psychological crisis prevention, some representatives of students shared their own experiences and true feelings. In addition, they also exchanged their work experience since the beginning of the school year and talked about their arrangements for the next phase of the "Wenxin Station".
This salon did help to enhance the storage of the professional knowledge of the psychological committee members in the School of Chinese Language and Literature. Furthermore, it has encouraged more observation, more learning to develop excellent and professional skills, which can effectively help the members to solve psychological problems and eventually make contributions to create a healthy atmosphere of our campus.
