The Voice of CCNU On March 29 morning, Tian Jun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, together with a group of full-time and part-time counselors of all undergraduate grades visited and condoled with the students' dormitories and carried out a specialized inspection activity of dormitory safety. The aim of the activity was to implement the university's dormitory epidemic control requirements, further understand the students' study, living situations and problems after the beginning of the school year, and raise the awareness of dormitory safety and prevention.
During the visit, the college leaders and counselors had an intimate communication with the students to understand in detail the recent situation of the students' accommodation lives. During the communication, Tian Jun emphasized the rules of dormitory safety in using electricity and the importance of dormitory culture construction, explaining to the students the precautions of dormitory safety to ensure that students have a safe and comfortable learning and living environment.
At the boy’s hostel of unit 4 in the Eastern dormitory area, Tian Jun and her colleague had a closer communication with the students on life and studying. The college leaders listened carefully to the students' opinions and suggestions on college management and services. They also asked them about the problems of clothing, food, housing, transportation, and their adaptation to school life. The counselors reminded the students to arouse high awareness of fire and theft prevention and asked them to take positive measures according to the current epidemic control requirements, such as gathering less, washing hands more often, ventilating more, wearing masks, and strictly implementing the epidemic prevention requirement of "not leaving school unless necessary".
During the visit to the dormitories of graduates, Tian Jun and others managed to get the lay of the land and understood the thought dynamics of the students in detail during the epidemic prevention and control, while having an in-depth conversation with them about graduation and employment under the epidemic to help students solve the problems encountered in further education and future employment. Tian Jun said that the school was now in a critical period of epidemic prevention and control, and the college attached great importance to guarding the health and safety of students and solving their needs, while urging students to do a good job of protection. Insofar as the confusion and questions about their future development raised by many graduates was concerned, Tian Jun patiently answered them while expressing full encouragement and high expectation, inspiring them to continue concentrating on their academic studies and calling on members in the dormitory to help and care for each other.
So far, the dormitory safety specialized inspection activity in spring of the School of Mathematics and Statistics had ended. Through this visit, the college leaders further understood students' residential lives and daily needs, promoted an effective communication between teachers and students of the college, narrowed the distance between teachers and students and laid a solid foundation for jointly creating a harmonious and civilized dormitory environment.
