During 2022 winter vacation, to implement spirits of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the CPC, guide students to practice the Core Values of Socialism in the process of gaining further understanding of conditions of the people and going deep into the society, strengthen ideological and ethical development of themselves, cultivate good spirituality, all the students of the class of 2020, who were members of CCNU School of Chemistry, successfully implemented a series of rich and colorful winter vacation social activities which focused on the theme of “ The Youth Make Contributions in New Age and Welcome the 20th CPC National Congress Happily” and took social activity as well as Thanksgiving-themed practical activity as two major directions. Those practical activities showed spirited upward spiritual outlook of the students adequately.
Participate in Labor Practice Actively to Show the High Spirits of the Youth
The students of class of 2020 of CCNU School of Chemistry took part in all kinds of labor activities which were related to daily life actively during winter vacation. During the practice, they improved their labor skills, in the meantime, they realized the importance of labor to daily life by heart, cultivated good labor mental outlook, built correct labor value orientation and treated the laboring people with a proper attitude to explain the meaning of “Labor Is the Most Glorious, Striving Is the Happiest” with their not only active but also responsible attitude as well as practical actions.
Chen Ying in Class 2002 help her parents with the business of selling Spring Festival couplets. She enhanced her patience and strained capacity during the process from learning about needs of the customers to suitable styles of couplets. What was more, through this working experience, she understood that so-called labor was from daily life, the labor must have the rich flavor of life and emotional bonding among people.
Qin Baolian in Class 2009 integrated into labor practice through washing dishes, picking vegetables, making dumplings and purchasing necessities for the New Year. From her experience, she not only felt moments of warmth in daily life, but also tasted a feeling of satisfaction and happiness brought by labor when she helped her parents with housework.
Zhang Yu in Class 2001 was responsive to the appeal released by her community and participated in voluntary activity to help home-going residents to have nucleic acid detection. She examined and checked health codes and route codes of residents who were asked to have nucleic acid detection at the entrance. She hoped that she could devote herself to the epidemic prevention and control with her labor.
Together with Us to Show Our Gratitude to the Teachers’ Kindness
Teachers’ kindness is profound, as they teach us valuable experience, teachers’ sentiment is haunting, as they dispel confusions ahead with wisdom. Although we have gone to distant places, teachers’ inculcation which was given to us in the past time still linger in our ears. A part of students of class of 2020 applied for going back their old school to visit their teachers, rest of them made electronic greeting cards to send to their teachers via “remote to send wishes”to express their sincere blessings.
Zhan Yinqi in Class 2002 went back to her old school—Xiamen No. 3 Middle School to pay a visit to her English teacher, they chatted with each other and had a heart-to-heart talk.
Yuan Mengmei in Class 2010 went back to her old school—Ninghai Middle School in Zhejiang Province. She visited her English teacher Mrs. Zhang and reviewed her middle school days with her teacher.
Ma Ke in Class 2011 came back to his old school—Linxi No.1 Middle School in Chifeng City, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, to visit his computer teacher, Mrs. Lei. On that day he recalled the happy time when he was staying with his teachers.
Liu Jingyi in Class 2004 went back to her old school—Experimental Middle School affiliated to Yangtze University. She visited her Chinese teacher—Mrs. Yang and talked about her college life and feelings with her teacher.
Some students chose to send their sincere blessings via making online greeting cards and received replies from their teachers. The good relations between students and teachers will never be broken by distance.
During the winter vacation in 2022, all the students in class of 2020 carried out labor practice to set up the attitude to labor and strengthen their working skills or showed their gratitude to their teachers with practical actions to remind themselves of their teachers’ kindness. They all spent their holiday in their own ways adequately and meaningfully. We believe that in the new term, all the students will maintain high spirits and create different wonderfulness.
