On the morning of August 4, the launching ceremony of the Colorful Holiday Voluntary activity in the School of Law of CCNU was held in Zishi Town Junior High School of Jiangling County, Jingzhou City. Xue Mingxiang, secretary and president of Zishi Town Junior High School, Li Yi, vice president, Zhang Xiaobai, member of the Party branch, and Wan Zong, deputy secretary of the Party committee of the Law School of CCNU, attended the launching ceremony. The young volunteer team composed of 17 members from the School of Law, the School of Mathematics and Statistics, the School of Education, the School of Urban and Environmental Sciences, the School of Physical Education and the School of Music would carry out a 12-day learning and development activity with 109 students from Zishi Town Junior High School. The ceremony was presided by Yang Rui.
Zhang Tiankai, leader of the volunteer team, introduced the aim, intention and characteristics of this voluntary activity and put forward work requirements for the members of the volunteer team.
Under the leadership of Li Caiyun, the members of the volunteer team took an oath together. The team members will use their passion and sincerity to study and practice hard, be strict with themselves, and behave like teachers, try their best to bring knowledge and hope to the students, practice the volunteer spirit with practical actions, show the responsibilities of teenagers, and write a chapter of youth.
Li Xinya, the student representative of Zishi Town Junior High school, expressed her expectation, treasure and gratitude for this voluntary activity, and called on the students to follow the command and arrangement, cultivate an optimistic and strong will in learning, improve their comprehensive practical ability and ability to solve difficulties, and spend a beautiful and happy summer life.
In his speech, Wan thanked leaders, teachers and students of Zishi Town Junior High School for their emphasis and support to the voluntary activity, approved the careful preparation and hard work of the volunteer team, and put forward four hopes: First, he hoped that everyone would attach great importance to this activity, cultivate and elevate themselves, and show the good image of students of CCNU; Second, he hoped that everyone would endure hardships and be capable of hard work, and dedicate themselves and take their responsibilities; Third, he hoped that everyone would cooperate with each other and make progress together. Fourth, he hoped that everyone would arrange the activity carefully and improve the actual effects of the activity. Wan specially emphasized that everyone should treasure the luck to meet each other, thank and love each other, and spend an unforgettable and colorful holiday together.
Xue Mingxiang introduced the background of this activity in his speech. He first put forward that everyone should treasure this voluntary activity and the precious opportunity to learn and develop their qualities and then showed his gratitude for the high attention of the leaders in the School of Law and the hard work of the volunteer team. He also put forward concrete demands for students’ study and hoped that everyone would seriously follow the school regulations and epidemic prevention requirements, correct their learning attitudes, actively develop interests and hobbies, have a good command of learning ways, cultivate the spirit of not afraid of hard work and difficulties and improve themselves in learning and broadening their horizons.
Youth and laws made time blossom. The members of the volunteer team will try their best to dedicate themselves to this voluntary activity, keep in mind the Party's original intention and mission, go to the places where the motherland needs, influence people with culture, inspire people with kindness, and promote the complete success of the voluntary activity with an aggressive attitude.
The summer social practice project, Colorful Holiday, is a voluntary service project initiated by the organizations at all levels of the Communist Youth League (called CYL for short) to care for teenagers, especially the stay-at-home children in rural areas. The Colorful Holiday Voluntary activity held by the young volunteer team of the School of Law of CCNU in Zishi Town Junior High School got the project approval support of the central committee of CYL. Taking the School of Law of CCNU as the base and Zishi Town Junior High School as the platform, this educational support activity will carry out a 12-day characteristic voluntary activity combining homework guidance and quality development. The team members have designed courses such as legal education, mental health education, music, football and safety education, which not only meet the actual needs of students, but also embody the characteristics and the advantages of the law major of CCNU. Additionally, during the educational support activity, they will carry out visit investigations to understand the education situation of local students and the judicial work situation of the grass-roots units.
