To further strengthen the educational function of aesthetic education and build an education system with all-round ability in areas such as morals, intelligence, physical fitness, work and aesthetics, the education assistance group with erudition and practice spirit of School of Chemistry carried forward Chinese art education spirit actively, made the educational status of aesthetics education stand out and integrated aesthetics education into overall process of practice during the “Volunteer Activities for the Country People” social practice activity in this summer. On July 10, the education assistance group offered dance classes, music classes and art classes for local children, expressed the connotation of beauty with two artistic forms which were artist's rendering and manifestation to help them cultivate ability to feel beauty and be creative.
Zhong Wenhui and Yao Ziying arranged different dances for students in every class to prepare for the later art performance in advance. In today's dance teaching class, they led students to do warm-up exercises, using The Cowboy Is Busy as background music, to prevent students from hurting themselves during the follow-up teaching process. After the warm-up finished, a dance which choreographed to the theme music of the cartoon, GGbond, created active classroom atmosphere. The familiar song and cute dance movements inspired the enthusiasm of the students. After class, there were still many students practise new dance steps again and again.
In art class, Qin Yuxuan showed students the charm of colors. From knowing colors, feeling colors to representing colors, the nail-biting teaching segments were very attractive. From theoretical study to hands-on practice, the layer upon layer progressive learning style had obvious effect. Qin Yuxuan took the intuitive feeling towards colors of students as entry point to explain art technical terms, such as hues, brightness, purity and so on, which turned abstract theories into vivid comprehensible knowledge. In the meantime, Guo Yajing took the students to get closer to tie-dye— one of traditional Chinese manual dyeing technique. After briefly imparting the basic knowledge of tie-dye, she emphatically introduced Bai tie-dyeing, which was an intangible cultural heritage. She briefly taught several fundamental ways to create tie-dye through videos and emphasized that people should fasten the rope during the process to create beautiful patterns, which paved the way for students' following hands-on practice. At the end of the class, Guo Yajing called on the students to feel the charm of art, the unknown and traditional Chinese culture while they felt the charm of tie-dye.
In addition, Qiao Shujie led the students to step into the music hall. After providing basic musical knowledge such as pitch and melody briefly, she gave live demonstration about how to combine several pieces of music regularly to play a melody, which aimed to animate the students. In such a short time about one lesson, she taught the students how to distinguish different pitches, how to recognize the tones of various musical instruments and introduced the characteristics of different musical instruments. Then, on this basis, she accounted for the reason for why musics using different instruments could bring people different feelings.
Aesthetic education is not only education which enriches imagination and increases creativity, but also the educational process which purifies heart, cultivates state and improves life. The education assistance group with erudition and practice spirit remains true to their original aspiration, adheres concept whose concrete content is “public benefit carries dreams and charity flies dreams”, promotes the spirit of Chinese aesthetic education, sticks to educating, influencing and cultivating people with art, implements rich and colorful aesthetic courses with passion, improves students' comprehensive quality roundly to strive to train more socialist builders and successors who are well-developed morally, intellectually, physically, aesthetically and artistically. In a word, the education assistance group keeps moving on the way to cultivate heart to help the youth grow up.
