On the morning of March 22, the 11th "Beatific Home-Jia Jie Room" Exhibition for Dormitory of Elegant Demeanor in College of Chemistry was held in the lecture hall of Building 9. The theme of this activity was " Cozy Room Is Here，Love It at First Sight ", which aimed to enable students to have deeper dormitory friendship, more comfortable living environments and higher quality of life, to help college students establish correct values, cultivate good living habits, promote the ultimate goal of higher education: to develop a sound personality. The event was organized by the Committee of the Communist Youth League of College of Chemistry and was undertaken by the Community Work Rights Department of Student Union Community of College of Chemistry. Liu Kelan and Lu Shuaiqi, Chemistry College host team members presided over the event.
Guests attending the event were Xu Fen, deputy party secretary of the College of Chemistry, Ma Ying, secretary of the Youth League Committee, Wu Shuangxin and Sun Yulin, deputy secretaries of the Youth League Committee, An Xiaolei, counselor of Grade 2021, A Dila and Yao Qini, part-time counselors, Zhang Libo, Hu Binbin, Liu Qin, community counsellors and Hu Yuqi, Luo Ruitong, members of the Presidium of the Students' Union of the College of Chemistry, etc. In order to improve the fairness of this activity, the on-site participating dormitory and student audience were invited as public judges, with the guests participating in the selection.
There were totally 19 dormitories taking part in the appraisal. Candidates appeared on the scene according to the ballot order. The evaluation score was composed of the average credit scores of dormitory members, the scores of interior inspection and the talent show. The talent show was scored by professional judges in four aspects: spiritual outlook, cultural connotation, performance content and innovation. The dormitory with outstanding performance would be awarded the title of "Jia Jie Room" and a college-level certificate.
At the beginning of the show, the host gave a brief introduction to the guests and the judges, and read out the purpose of the show, as well as the rules and standards of the competition, then " Beatific Home-Jia Jie Room" Exhibition for Dormitory of Elegant Demeanor officially began. Firstly, students of Dorm 533 of Building 4 in Yuanbaoshan Quarter came on the stage. The talent show brought by the four like-minded girls united as one was a wonderful sketch. The sketch in a humorous way spoke out contemporary college students’ problems on time management and addiction in cellphones, leading people to think and warning everyone to learn to manage their time; girls in Dorm 731 of Building 9 in Eastern Quarter were dressed in uniforms of their dormitory, natural and graceful. Their self-made and self-acting poetry recitation "I Love Going to School" was appealing, with sonorous voice and uniform action. The content of the recitation was full of fun and inspiration, which attracted the attentiveness of the guests and the audience.
Each dormitory had its own characteristics, and also in their own way showed the good style and spirit of their own dormitory to the guests and audience. After the show, Ma Ying, secretary of the Youth League Committee, commented on the event. She affirmed the students' thinking and hands-on abilities, praised the contestants for their excellent mental outlook and ease of handling, the excellent quality of hard work, and also hoped that they could publicize the "Jia Jie Room" activity, so that more people could participate in this exceedingly meaningful activity. Liu qin, community counselor Liu Qin, also made a brief comment. She said she was very happy to see the richness of the students' lives, and hoped to see more excellent students in the community cultural construction.
Finally, the 11th "Beatific Home-Jia Jie Room" Exhibition for Dormitory of Elegant Demeanor in College of Chemistry– Cozy Room Is Here，Love It at First Sight had a successful conclusion. Xiong Shijie, a 2021-level contestant, said after the event, "The event has made our dormitory more united and our members have a closer relationship. I hope we can continue to take part in it next year!"
