Under the background of the successful holding of the Fifth Session of the Thirteenth National People's Congress and the Fifth Session of the Thirteenth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, in order to implement the fundamental task of establishing moral values and cultivating talents and further strengthen the students' awareness of respecting and loving the Party, Class of 2021 from the School of Chinese Language and Literature successfully carried out the evening roll call on the theme of “Ideological and Political Education” in classroom 8210 on March 13th. This activity was taken by the Youth League Committee and hosted by Hu Xiaoxian, Secretary of Youth League General Branch, with all the students participating.
This special evening roll call activity guided all students and teachers of Class of 2021 to follow the footsteps of the Party, actively learn about the Party and sincerely sing the praises of the Party and the motherland through video learning, knowledge explanation, knowledge quiz, poetry recitation, creation of three-lined love poems and red songs singing.
At the beginning of the activity, Hu Xiaoxian played the special video of the Two Sessions of the People's Daily--“Leading the Way”for the students, which showed them the glorious achievements of the Communist Party of China and vividly illustrated the belief of the Party:“The nation is composed of people, and people are all that matter to the nation”. By watching the video, the students reviewed the history of the Party, were touched by the power of the people and witnessed the greatness of the motherland.
Then, Hu Xiaoxian invited the knowledge speakers, Zhang Yanan and Ma Qian, to the stage. They led all students to get access to the Chinese institutional system with telling and comprehensive explanations and learn about the Party, the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, assist to them be informed of our system advantages more deeply, theoretical advantages and socialist path advantages and instructed students in constructing correct outlook on life, values and world view. Subsequently, the speaker randomly asked several questions which combined the content of the lecture. The students raised their hands one after another, which not only showed their full understanding of the Party, but also inspired other students to learn more about the Party.
After the knowledge quiz session, the fourth part followed -- "Write Three-Lined Poems and Express the Love of the Party". Born under the red flag, grow up in the spring breeze, our eyes are full of our motherland, the sparkles of the five stars are all faith. In this romantic spring, the students from class of 2021 wrote down their most passionate and sincere confessions to the Party and the motherland. The students introduced their original poetry works with deep love and narrated their thoughts and stories behind their creation. Every word and poem showed each student’s deep feeling about family and country and reflected their loyalty and boundless passion for the Party.
After the sharing activity, the lead reciter representatives brought them a poem called “Qin Yuan Chun - Changsha”. Their enthusiastic and rhythmical tone deeply infected all the participants and made the students truly feel the great power contained in the poems. As contemporary youths, we should closely combine our personal development with the needs of the country and correctly choose our own direction of development and the way forward in the magnificent tide of the times. If the young generation has pursuits and responsibilities, the country will have a future and the nation will have hope.
At the end of the event, the students sang their love for the party, the motherland and the people in songs, at which moment the atmosphere was pushed to a climax. Under the leadership of the Presidium of the Student Union and the General Branch of the League, the students waved the small red flags in their hands and sang the red songs “I love you China” and “There is no new China without the Communist Party” with deep affections. The songs were sung loud and clearly, with the Chinese red rippling in the songs, which expressed everyone's sincere love and high respect for the Party. At the same time, the students also strengthened their faith in the Party and the country, as well as their ideal and ambition to study hard and serve the Party and the country.
General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out, “The youth is the most active and dynamic force in the whole society, the hope of the country lies in the youth, and the future of the nation lies in the youth. Today, the Chinese youths in new times are in the best period of the development of the Chinese nation. They are facing both a rare life opportunity to contribute to the nation and the mission of the times that ‘The god will give tremendous duties to a person’.”
This special evening roll call activity was held successfully, which enhanced students' understanding of the knowledge and trends of the Party, helped them realize their historical responsibilities, and was beneficial for them to establish their ambition to make achievements. We believe that the students from the School of Chinese Language and Literature are bound to seize the opportunities of the new era and consecrate themselves to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!
