"I chose to major in Cultural Heritage, at first out of curiosity and love for cultural heritage." Duan Zhifang explains her initial thoughts with this sentence, she is fascinated by the mysterious subtleties of bronzes and also loves the unique expressions of opera, calligraphy, and painting. As she continued her professional studies, Duan Zhifan realized that China actually possesses a richer cultural heritage than she had imagined, and then she hoped to contribute to the protection and inheritance of China's cultural heritage through her efforts.

In the long road of cultural preservation, Duan Zhifan first set her sights on her hometown. 2022 summer vacation, she founded the "Embroidery Huazhong" practice team, for her hometown's non-heritage embroidery research, exploring the non-heritage to help the rural economic development of the new ideas, the project "artisanal embroidery - the non-heritage perspective of rural revitalization" won the third prize of the institution's summer social practice, the relevant deeds were also reported in the media and the school media. The project "Craftsmanship unique embroidery - Rural revitalization under the perspective of non-heritage" won the third prize of the summer social practice in the hospital, and the related deeds were also reported in the media of the hospital and the school media. This experience made her realize that as a history student, she should pay more attention to and understand the history and culture of her hometown, and contribute to the promotion and development of her hometown's culture with what she has learned.

With the successful practical experience, Duan Zhifan devoted herself to the broader field of history. She was a member of the scientific and creative project "Analysis of Women's Education Ideas in the Chinese Women's Association and its Publication "Women's Journal", which was awarded "Provincial Outstanding Project". In this academic year, she won the first prize in the science and innovation simulation competition of Central China Normal University. "I was fortunate enough to have been a moment in their lives and am grateful for every bit of growth they have given me." Among the many volunteers she has participated in, Duan Zhifan was most impressed by a letter-writing activity with deaf children. Before writing each letter, she would make drafts and draw sketches to share her college life and feelings with the other person, who gradually opened her heart and gave her unique responses during the exchanges. "Although the original purpose of the activity is for us to help these deaf children, he also taught me a lot and gave me more courage to face life."

Like many people, Duan Zhifang has had her share of confusion and stress. She believes that the key to relieving stress lies firstly in maintaining a positive mindset and learning to self-regulate; secondly, it is important to keep detailed records and plans for each task, forming a basic arrangement in your mind of what you want to accomplish; and lastly, it is important to learn how to release stress, and she admits that she does this by communicating with friends and eating, letting her thoughts go during the time she spends communicating and ingesting food, and getting a breath of fresh air in her busy schedule.

Qinghua porcelain can only be fired under the wetness of smoke and rain, and Duan Zhifan is grateful to everyone she met on the way growing up who helped her, she has gained a better self in activity after activity and continues to move forward in the path of her ideal. It took her three years to go from being unadorned to full of color, and in the days to come, her firing process will continue, and her love will support her as she goes further and further in her pursuit of light and heat.
