At noon on November 16, the lunch meeting between teachers and students of Pomegranate Garden was held in Classroom 401 of Student Activity Center. The theme of this luncheon was "Pomegranate blossoms to talk about true feelings, teachers and students talk together to promote peer-to-peer". Yang Jun, Vice Minister of the Student Work Department of the Party Committee, Wu Jiancheng, Deputy Director of the Student Work Department of the Party Committee, Li Chunyan, a teacher from Xinjiang assigned to Hubei University, and all teachers of the Ethnic Affairs Office of the Student Work Department of the Party Committee attended this activity, and all members of the 6th Red Pomegranate Growing Garden Ethnic Society (students) participated in it, which was hosted by Mei Hezhiguli Abduwali, Director of the Ethnic Affairs Office.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Mei introduced the development history of the Red Pomegranate Growing Garden Ethnic Society - since its establishment in 2018 under the auspices of the Department of Academic Affairs, the society, in the spirit of "inheriting and carrying forward the excellent traditional culture of various ethnic groups, and promoting extensive interaction and exchange among students of various ethnic groups". Since its establishment under the Ministry of Education and Work, the club has organized more than 100 cultural activities on campus, enriched the campus life of college students, trained hundreds of students, and become a golden signboard for the education of national unity and progress in CCNU.
After that, Mr. Mei introduced the composition of the sixth club: there are 25 members of the club, covering 10 ethnic components from 9 colleges. What's more than the previous clubs, the 6th student cadre not only included more ethnic groups to make the size of the club reach 25 for the first time, but also recruited 3 excellent Han Chinese students, which further promoted the development concept of "interaction, exchange and integration among students of all ethnic groups".
Next, the first part of the luncheon was "Seeds of One Heart, Gathering and Knowing Each Other" - the club members introduced themselves and shared their gains and growth in the club. He said that the school attaches great importance to ethnic education and cares for students of all nationalities, and has carried out a series of related special brand activities. He hoped that the students would find a home in the Red Pomegranate Garden, feel the warmth of home, and unite together like pomegranate seeds; seize every opportunity to improve themselves in the future in the society and in their study life in Huashi, and build a solid foundation for a smooth transition to the workplace.
The second part of the luncheon was the "Beauty Together, Encouragement Together". In this part, students expressed their opinions and suggestions for the better development of the club, or put forward new suggestions and ideas for the development of the school's ethnic education work.
In the final session of "Teachers and Students Thinking Together, Sailing for the Future", teachers sent their blessings to students one by one. Among them, Mr. Wu Jiancheng expressed his wishes to the students: "I hope that each student will be strict with themselves, take the lead in the college or in the work of the association, take the lead, work together, appreciate each other, learn together, live together, grow together, cling together like pomegranate seeds, follow the Party with firm beliefs like a rock, and make the best of themselves on Mount Guizi!
