(Correspondents Xu Henghong Yang Xinyi Wang Di) On August 27, the 2022 special induction training for newly appointed counselors and head teachers of CCNU was held in the lecture hall on the first floor of the Management and Education Comprehensive Building. Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee as well as Minister of the Office of Student Affairs Chen Diming and the director of the Ideological and Political Department of the Office of Student Affairs attended the Opening Ceremony. 56 full- time and part-time counselors and 86 head teachers newly recruited were present at the training.
Chen Diming expressed his congratulations to the new counselors and head teachers on behalf of the school, then put forward four hopes for everyone: First, they should strengthen learning practically, strive to be thoughtful workers, turn the ideological wisdom into advanced theories together with practice achievements of student work, and try to create a new situation in student work; Second, they must care for students attentively, make an endeavor to be workers with warmth, and through soundless love and warm instruction, exert themselves to forge an education brand full of warmth; Third, they should attempt to enhance their accumulation, strive to be innovative workers, at the same time, try their best to promote the inheritance and innovation of student work under the guidance of new ideas, new thoughts and new theories; Fourth, they need to stick to the bottom line of student work, become responsible workers , do well in promptly discovering, preventing in advance and effectively dealing with all kinds of safety incidents, practically safeguard the stability of school security, create a peaceful and harmonious campus environment for the students’ healthy growth and full development, and salute the successfully convocation of the 12th National Congress of the CPC with practical actions.
Wang Lu, the Excellent Communist Party Member of colleges in Hubei Province, the outstanding counselor of CCNU in 2021 as well as the counselor of School of Fine Arts, and Li Jia, the school “Educating people with Teaching, Management and Service” advanced individual, one of the “Ten Best Head Teachers” in 2021 as well as a teacher of College of Chemistry, made keynote speeches. Wang Lu combined with her own working experience and feelings, encouraged the new counselors to accompany students to grow with awe, affection and wisdom all the time. Li Jia emphasized that the core value pursuit of the head teacher’s work was to promote the harmonious development of undergraduates’ bodies and minds as well as the optimal development of undergraduates’ comprehensive qualities, and it’s also significant for head teachers to build a home-school-society collaborative education community and grow with students together.
After the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Sun Qiwu of Mental Health Education Center and relevant superintendents of Publicity Department of Party Committee respectively gave special reports on the topics of “The Competency and Cultivating Approaches of Undergraduates’ Mental Health Education”and”Improve the Ideological Cognition of Network Ideology Work, Do Well in the Public Opinion Response and Handling”. Wang Lu and Li Jia respectively exchanged their experience with the trainees around the counselors and head teachers’ work. All the new counselors conducted group discussions focus on the theme of “How to Do Ideological and Political Education of College Students in the New Era Well” to provide suggestions for the ideological and political education of college students.
At the Closing Ceremony, the representative of new counselors Ni Jing and the representative of new head teachers Wan Cuihong severally delivered speeches. Li Jing mentioned that she would strengthen learning, improving, exploring, innovating and educating people with great concentration. Wan Cuihong indicated that she would think more, do more, love more, do a good job in the work of head teachers heart and soul, and boost the students’ all-round development of morality, intelligence, sports, aesthetics and labour education.
The relevant superintendents of Office of Student Affairs hoped that the new counselors and head teachers could adapt to the role as soon as possible, get familiar with the related work requirements, walk close to students, master the students’ demands, then intensify the exploration and innovation, form an ideological and political brand, extend the influence and demonstration of school’s ideological and political work, and ultimately build an ideological and political highland with “CCNU features”.
