On the afternoon of July 24, the alumni of the 2001 undergraduate statistics major of the School of Mathematics and Statistics (hereinafter referred to as the school of Statistics) returned to the campus with deep friendship for their Alma Mater, teachers and classmates, recalled the past years and talked about the future development.
The alumni of statistics major of grade 2001 entered the school in accordance with the requirements of campus epidemic prevention at 14 p.m. . The students walked in the campus and classroom where they had studied, recalled the memory of Guizi Mountain when they studied, and went to the home of the then professional teacher Liu Xianlong to recall the past and chat about the present.
The 20th Anniversary Symposium was held in the lecture hall on the second floor of the school of Statistics at 16 p.m. . Liu Chengzhu, Secretary of the Party committee of the college, Zuo Guoxin, vice president, Liu Xianlong and Chen Yingbao, representatives of teachers of professional courses of grade 2001, attended the symposium.
Zuo Guoxin, on behalf of the college, welcomed the alumni back to school, expressed heartfelt thanks to the alumni for their long-term concern for their Alma Mater and helping their Alma Mater's development, and recalled the green years when they accompanied the alumni to carry out off campus internships. Next, the alumni introduced themselves in turn, reported their changes in recent 20 years to the teachers one by one, and recalled their deep feelings of studying in Guizi Mountain more than ten years ago. Most of the alumni of grade 2001 statistics major have been rooted in statistical research, data analysis, mathematics education and other industries for many years. They not only exchanged their own development and changes, but also put forward sincere suggestions for the development of statistics major in the college.
Liu Xianlong and Chen Yingbao recalled the fragments of the students of grade 2001 and said that "the students of grade 2001 are the first undergraduates enrolled in statistics. For us, they are also a group of students with deep memory and a lot of feelings".
In his concluding speech, Liu Chengzhu once again extended a warm welcome to the alumni, introduced the development process and current situation of statistics to them, hoped that they would continue to care about and support the development of the college, maintain close communication and cooperation, and sincerely invited them to return to Guizi Mountain and building 6 often to seek new development and write a new chapter.
